Hydrogen is a central vector of the transition to a carbon-neutral energy system. The Institute of Hydrogen Technology designs components for the supply infrastructure with this sustainable energy carrier, both for stationary systems and for vehicles. In particular, we are developing economical compression and energy-efficient storage solutions for hydrogen using metal hydrides. We cover the whole value chain from fundamental materials research to the design of individual components and system integration. With the help of unique testing facilities and comprehensive computer simulations, we develop customized solutions for sustainable energy supply and mobility.
