Our research in the Helmholtz Association

Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon is part of the Helmholtz Association, Germany's largest scientific organization.

Research areas

The research center's approximately 1,100 employees make substantial contributions to clarifying major and pressing issues in key scientific, economic and social topics.

The Helmholtz Association is helping to decipher the complex systems that shape humanity and the environment. It develops answers to crucial questions that concern people today and in the future: in connection with energy supply, the sustainable use of resources, mobility or the therapy of previously incurable diseases. But fundamental questions such as the origin of the universe are also included.

The Helmholtz Center Hereon works in the research areas: Earth & Environment, Helmholtz Information and Matter
