New Administrative Management

Elisabeth Gerndt took over the Administrative Management at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon and is at the campus in Geesthacht for her first official days of work.
The graduate in business administration has been working at the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig since 2014. Since 2018, she has been part of the extended management team as an authorized signatory and has successfully helped shape the fortunes of the center. Initially, she headed the staff unit "Business Controlling" and from 2019 took over the management of the newly formed department "Finance and Controlling". In 2022, she was able to contribute and expand her knowledge and experience as acting administrative manager of the HZI.

In addition, the experienced manager also has a broad industrial background. This ranges from the management of a medium-sized supplier company for commercial and rail vehicle construction to the financial management of the German production site of an international food group to the management of an innovation center for microelectronics. A native of Lower Saxony, she is also a lecturer at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbüttel, where she teaches business administration to prospective computer scientists.
