Climate Adaptation Week
The first nationwide "Climate Adaptation Week" will take place from 12 to 16 September 2022. The Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, nukleare Sicherheit und Verbraucherschutz (BMUV) and the Zentrum Klimaanpassung are jointly organising it. The motto: "Together for Climate Adaptation". The aim is to draw more attention to risk prevention against the consequences of climate change and to increase the visibility of practical examples that work. In addition to some scientific contributions to this event, scientists from the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon will present their work to interested parties in the Chilehaus as part of an "open week".

With over 150 events and activities nationwide, the "Climate Adaptation Week" is the largest series of events on the topic in Germany to date, aimed at a wide variety of actors and practice partners such as municipalities, social institutions, authorities, associations, universities and companies. The series of events, which will be opened by Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke on 12 September 2022, is intended to make the commitment of the various actors in the field of climate adaptation visible and to highlight the potentials, solutions and products that science has to offer.
GERICS is also available to present its wide range of products and services, current research results on climate adaptation and in-house experts for questions and discussions on climate adaptation. The topics and contact persons at GERICS that have been focussed on so far in the framework of the "Climate Adaptation Week" can be found in the following overview, which is constantly being expanded.
If you would like to talk to us in person about a specific topic or take part in a short lecture followed by a discussion during the "Open Week" (12 to 16 September 2022), please feel free to register via the link below.
