46 scientists from countries around the Baltic Sea region and Europe presented and discussed research results and future prospects in different fields in which remote sensing can be applied: salinity, sea level, land-sea carbon fluxes, terrestrial water resources, ocean temperature and color (which is an indicator for water quality and plankton) and ocean-atmosphere CO2 fluxes. An important outcome of the workshop will be the elaboration of future research foci related to remote sensing in the Baltic Sea region.
