Membrane dehumidification for energy saving and comfort-efficient air handling systems in fixed and mobile applications

DRYCOMFORT

Project timeline
Start:
February 2000
Duration:
36 months
End:
January 2003
General Information
Traditionally dehumification is obtained by cooling systems requiring high power to codense vapour. The objective of this project is the development of innovative systems to allow air humidity control with low energy cost by using contactors based on membranes impermeable to liquid water, but higly permeable to water vapour. Humidity control is performed by using liquid dessiccants solutions.
