The resources of GEMS are organised in the departments "X-ray Diffraction with Synchrotron Radiation", "X-ray Imaging with Synchrotron Radiation", "Neutron Scattering" of the research division Materials Physics and "Biological Characterisation" of the research division Metallic Biomaterials.

GEMS Outstations

GEMS offers synchrotron beamlines at the

Hereon outstation at DESY in Hamburg

as well as neutron scattering instruments at the

Hereon outstation at FRM II in Garching.
