Short Biography
Karola Lützow is a staff scientist in the department Multidimensional Characterization working on topics related to NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. She studied chemistry at the Free University of Berlin, where she earned her PhD in the group of Prof. Dieter Schlüter in the field of macromolecular chemistry. She initially started working as a postdoctoral researcher in this institute on the surface functionalization of nanoparticles for the development of endotoxin adsorbers. Later, she focused on the functionalization of highly porous microparticles and membranes for extracorporeal blood/plasma purification applications. She also worked on the formation of polymeric foams and the development of polymeric scaffolds for applications in regenerative medicine.
