2016 - 2017 Technical University of Denmark, National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) and the Centre for Ocean Life (Advisors: Mark Payne, Brian MacKenzie)

2014 - 2016 Research Assistant at the National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua, Denmark)

2013 - 2015 M.Sc.Eng. in Aquatic Science and Technology (Focus: Oceanography) Technical University of Denmark (Copenhagen)

2008 - 2011 B.Sc. in Environmental and Resource Management Brandenburg University of Technology (Cottbus, Germany)

I am fascinated by the ocean’s interconnectedness and how physical processes affect life at all scales. During my PhD I will explore this link and convert forecasts of the physical environment into forecasts of the biological marine environment and thereby into variables that are directly relevant for stakeholders.

Using the fish blue whiting as a case study, I will develop seasonal-to-decadal scale forecasts of its spatial distribution based on the mechanistic understanding of the species-environment relationship and thoroughly examine the quality of forecasts.
